English as Second Language (ESL)

Are you from a non-english speaking background and want to learn English?  Or do you want to improve your  english and meet other people who are new to Perth too? Are you looking for some free English Classes while in Perth?

Then we invite you to come along to our English as a Second Language Group.  Our ESL team will help you develop and strengthen your skills in the English language. There are many different English classes from beginner to advanced. Our volunteers from all across Perth can teach you about the local language, culture and correct pronounciation.

As our classes are funded by the Local Government of South Perth they are free to anyone. There is no need to make an appointment, just come and tell us your level of english. Everything is supplied including pens and paper.

To join, simply turn up, no booking needed. One of our trained volunteers will talk to you and tell you what level of English you have. Level 1 english is for people who are learning basic words, level 2 is for short sentences, level 3 is for those wanting conversational english, level 4 is a 10 week course with home work. All our classes are free and survive by dontations from government and the community.

Tuesday 10.30am - 12 noon
  • Level 1 (Letters and Basic words)
  • Level 2 (Phrases, short sentences)
  • Level 3 (Conversation English)
  • Level 4 (Structured course with home work)

Wednesday 11am - 12.30 noon
  • Level 3 (Conversation English about Australian Culture)
Friday 7pm - 8 pm
  • Level 3 (Conversation English)
